Fly me to the moon.

No, I will never fly there, or probably anywhere, but I did get to go round Aberdeen Airport to see what they have done to make it dementia and disabled friendly.

Obviously, most of it is bright so I had to wear my wraparounds, but otherwise it was good. There is a lot of assistance available with fast lanes etc. The Changing Places toilet was big and sign posted.

Unfortunately, the therapy dogs weren’t there, but can be brought in on demand and they also have a timetable for when they are there. I was told when they go through security they just lie down and like getting their tummies tickled. Passengers, and staff, find them very calming; must be handy if there are delays!

For one time only

I don’t talk politics on this blog, but just this once. Call me a saddo, but I used to like the cut and thrust of debating politics and listening to it. Now it is about nothing but Brexit and all the comments are so extreme and vituperative that it turns me off looking at politics in papers, online and the TV.

The problem is that is harmful for me as I am no longer using politics to stimulate my cognitive processes, and that, and the thought of how depressing politics now is, creates fogginess and a feeling of losing an interest. My work over dementia has now become all the more important to me as as a means of keeping me stimulated and, basically, going.
